Hot mulled punch

Hot mulled punch is a non-alcoholic version of mulled wine. This is especially good to make during Christmas for kids, people who are driving or people who don’t drink alcohol.


Ingredients: (serves 2)

-1 cup of grape juice

-1 cup of apple juice

-1 fresh orange, sliced

-3 cardamom pods

-2 cloves

-2 cinnamon sticks

-2 star anise

-0.5 tsp cinnamon powder

-A pinch of mixed spice powder

-1 tsp vanilla paste/ extract

-Honey (to serve)


1)Put all the ingredients (except the cinnamon powder, mixed spice powder, vanilla paste and honey) in a pan and bring to the boil.IMG_9263



2) Add the cinnamon powder, mixed spice powder and vanilla paste to the pan, and bring to the boil again.



3) Strain the mulled punch with a sieve.


4) Pour the punch into glasses. Add honey to serve- the spices can make the punch a bit bitter sometimes so I usually add about 1-2 tsp honey.

Serve by putting one of the oranges you used, into the glass and add a cinnamon stick on the rim of the glass.IMG_9280
